More and more families are choosing to give birth outside of the hospital setting. Some of these occur in a free-standing birth center, while others occur within the home. They are attended by a variety of caregivers including midwives, family physicians, and doulas. Other births are unassisted, a growing trend nationwide, with the mother choosing to "free birth" her baby in the location and company she desires. Whatever your unique situation may be, I am eager to assist you in creating a pregnancy, birth, and postpartum plan specific to your individual goals and hopes for your baby's birth. What's Included ~Meet-and-Greet Client/Doula Interview (pre-booking session): this can be in-person, telephone, or virtual based on your preference. ~Initial Prenatal Appointment, in-person or virtual, at approximately 32 weeks gestation. ~Pre-Labor Prenatal Appointment, in-person or virtual, at approximately 35 weeks gestation. ~Childbirth education and birth planning assistance. ~Once monthly check-ins, virtually or via telephone, prior to 32 weeks gestation (if applicable). ~24/7 telephone support via talk or text throughout pregnancy. ~24/7 on-call availability from 38 weeks gestation until the birth of your baby. * ~Unlimited phone, text, and virtual communication during the early labor phase. ~Continuous in-person support at your home or birth center from the time active labor is established until 1-2 hours following the birth of your baby.** ~Assistance with postpartum bonding during "The Golden Hour," such as breastfeeding and skin-to-skin contact, as needed and/or desired by you. ~Photos throughout your labor and birth if desired, or referral to a professional birth photographer.
